While US Congress are working on laws to control the internet, comedian Louis C.K. has managed to harness the power of the world-wide web to make $1 million in just 10 days.
On Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Louis C.K. announced that his comedy special Louis C.K: Live At The Beacon Theatre which he funded himself with no backing from studios, networks or distributors has made $1 million since going on sale on 10th December.
He also announced that he doesn’t plan to keep all the money, $250,000 going to payback the production costs, $250,000 will be paid in bonuses to his staff, $280,000 will go to various charities. With the remaining $220k, Louis intends to pay his rent, look after his kids and “do terrible, horrible things with and none of that is any of your business”, fair enough I say.
