For the past month Frank Ocean’s name has been constantly coming upon, from releasing a free download of ‘Pyramids‘, a 9 minute experimental journey taken from  Frank’s highly anticipated debut album ‘Channel Orange‘, to posting an open letter on his tumblr about his experience falling in love for the first time with a male friend. And now releasing a soulful, Steve Wonder inspired ‘Sweet LIFE‘ on his Soundcloud page.

Last but definitely not least, the Brooklyn lovely Santigold.

I’m glad they gave this song the video treatment, ‘Keepers‘ is one of my favourite tracks of Santi’s sophmore album ‘Master Of My Make Believe‘.

The video is also Santi’s directorial debut and features a cameo from Wu-Tang’s GZA.

Girl crushes are like buses, you have nothing to gush over for ages then three turn up on the same day.

First lady is the ridiculously underrated Kelis. DJ Nikki Beatnik premiered a new single from the ‘Acapella’ singer on her radio show over the weekend called ‘Distance’.

The Skream (Magnetic Man) produced single is from her still in the works sixth album, and it takes you on a trip back to 90s garage, she mentions in a recent interview that the new album is inspired by 90s dance music.

Having been a fan since ‘Conversations With Her‘ and ‘Mar Variations‘, I am really happy to be getting new music from Dutch singer-songwriter Mar. ‘Seeing Her Naked‘ is Mar’s first solo EP and it’s available to download for free on his website.

Unlike the Variations project where Mar puts a unique spin on other artists’ song, this five track player is straightforward R&B which is never a bad thing when it’s as sultry and as sensual as it is on this EP. This has been on constant repeat for a few days now, five songs are just not enough!
