This is my 100th post, and it makes me so happy that it’s about the talented Mr. BREIS!
I wasn’t planning on posting anything Valentines related today but then I came across ‘Love Is A Journey’. This isn’t your usual soppy, lovey dovey ish that you hear every 14th of February, but a soulful, honest reflection on the highs and lows encountered while looking for love.
“Love is a journey, not a place”
‘Love Is A Journey’ will be featured on BREIS‘ up-coming 6 track EP entitled “The Moving On Project” that will be out soon so keep an eye on his Facebook/Twitter for more information.
The biggest track from ‘Watch The Throne‘ has had the video treatment, the video was filmed at the Los Angeles leg of the Watch the Throne tour where Jay-Z and Kanye West performed this song ten times!
Watch the video below, but discretion is advised as the video could potentially cause seizures. Continue reading →
At only one day old, Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s first born Blue Ivy Carter has already recorded her first song. Jay penned the Pharrell produced ‘Glory‘ as an ode to his daughter, and amongst the beautiful sentiments he also reveals Beyoncé suffered a miscarriage before falling pregnant with baby Blue.

Azealia Banks quickly became a favourite to look out for in 2012 after releasing just one track, ‘212’. Music journalists, radio djs, bloggers and music fans in general are all looking forward to hearing more from the Harlem MC.
Her latest offering is ‘Liquirice’, rapping over Lone’s ‘Pineapple Crush‘.
Nardwuar is one of my favourite presenters ever and I’m not alone, he’s a much liked character amongst artists as well and many have actually pushed other artists to let him interview them (Pharrell told Jay-Z he needs to be interviewed by him). He digs deeper than most journalist and always blindsights artists by what he finds out about them.
Here he is with Ghostface Killah talking about his love for soul music, tiramisu, kung-fu movies and more.
I seriously recommend you watch all the interviews in his youtube channel, you won’t be disappointed.
“These are just an illustration, of a few scenes that helped raise a generation”
I don’t know if this is fan made or not but Lupe tweet the video.
“Double Burger With Cheese” is from Lupe’s latest mixtape ‘Friend Of The People’. the line is from Menace II Society when Caine car-jacked someone at the drive-thu and demands he give him the car and order him a double burger with cheese.
The song is a recollection of memorable scenes and moments from ‘gangsta’ films a lot of people (including me) grew up watching in the 80s and 90s. The video is basically a run down of the mentioned scenes, Boyz n the Hood, Menace II Society, New Jack City, Juice and more featured.
Obviously the intention behind the song and video isn’t nostalgia but I couldn’t help myself, this brought back memories :(.
