To many, Ice Cube is a gangster rapper, movie star, director, producer but you should also add architect to the list. Before joining the ground-breaking group N.W.A, Ice Cube studied ‘Architectural Drafting’ at Phoenix Institute of Technology and to this day he still has great appreciation for design and architecture.

The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl is a web-series created by and starring Issa Rae. The series follows J who is shy and socially awkward (with mean rapping skills), she has trouble interacting with colleagues and love interests and finds herself a love triangle that can only be described as… awkward!
The series premiered on Youtube in February and quickly gained a devoted following. By episode 6, Rae and producer Tracey Oliver found themselves unable to complete the rest of the series, they had no budget and no backers. inWhile US Congress are working on laws to control the internet, comedian Louis C.K. has managed to harness the power of the world-wide web to make $1 million in just 10 days.
On Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Louis C.K. announced that his comedy special Louis C.K: Live At The Beacon Theatre which he funded himself with no backing from studios, networks or distributors has made $1 million since going on sale on 10th December.
He also announced that he doesn’t plan to keep all the money, $250,000 going to payback the production costs, $250,000 will be paid in bonuses to his staff, $280,000 will go to various charities. With the remaining $220k, Louis intends to pay his rent, look after his kids and “do terrible, horrible things with and none of that is any of your business”, fair enough I say.

UK TV viewers celebrate, one of my favourite new shows is coming to our shores.
This loveable comedy sitcom starring Zooey Deschanel has been an instant hit with the US audience. The show achieved the highest-rated Fall debut for a Fox scripted show since The Bernie Mac Show in 2001. and has been nominated for two Golden Globe Awards (‘Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy‘ and Deschanel being nominated for ‘Best Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy‘).
